Veneers

Do you have several problems with your teeth that you want to correct? Are you bothered by stains as well as cracks and gaps in your grin? You might be worried about needing multiple treatments to address these problems, but with veneers, we can fix them all at once. A few thin sheaths of porcelain can be used to cover multiple teeth, hiding any number of imperfections from view. As long as you take care of them, veneers can last for a very long time before needing to be swapped out for new ones.

Metal-Free Restorations

Having healthy, functioning teeth is more important than appearances, of course, but that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice the latter for the former. Ceramic crowns have comparable strength and durability to traditional metal crowns, but they’re designed to match the color of your natural teeth so closely that many people can’t even tell that they’re there at all. We also favor tooth-colored fillings that can be shaded to match the tooth they’ve been placed in.

Cosmetic Bonding

Cosmetic bonding is something of a quick fix for people who only want to make a few small corrections to their smiles. The process involves the same material used for tooth-colored fillings; we just place it on the tooth in strategic areas to hide a number of flaws. Like veneers, cosmetic bonding is very versatile in the type of corrections it can make, but it’s also a much faster process that only takes one visit to complete.

Teeth Whitening

Your teeth can gradually become discolored over time if you drink dark-colored beverages like coffee. It can also happen as part of the aging process. We can bring back the brightness of your smile with teeth whitening. Unlike traditional methods that don’t get below the surface of the enamel, our professional whitening treatments can remove internal stains as well as external ones. Depending on your preferences or needs, you can choose between an in-practice whitening procedure and an at-home whitening kit.

Gum Recontouring

Does it seem like your gums are overwhelming your teeth when you look at them in the mirror? Is the gum line notably uneven to the point of drawing unwanted attention to itself? We can restore balance to your smile with a quick gum recontouring treatment. We identify the gum tissue that isn’t actually needed, then remove it to re-sculpt the gum line. This is done until your gums and teeth look proportionate to each other all the way around.

Smile Makeovers

Some patients only need to give one or two teeth a minor touch-up to get the smiles they want. But if all of the teeth in your mouth have been affected by discoloration, damage, misalignment, or other issues, then we’ll need to put together a plan outlining all the improvements that need to be made. To start your full smile makeover, all you need to do is schedule an appointment to discuss your goals for your teeth.

BOTOX® &
Juvéderm®

There are several components to a good smile, and that includes the way the rest of your face looks when you pull back your lips to show off your teeth. If you see any wrinkles or fine lines that seem to add several years to your smile, we may recommend BOTOX or Juvéderm. BOTOX is better for dynamic wrinkles that appear whenever you make a facial expression while Juvéderm is for the static wrinkles that are always visible.

Which Cosmetic Dental Service Is Right for Me?

In most cases, people who visit a cosmetic dentist in Queens are looking to achieve one or more of the following:
  • Whiter teeth
  • Straighter teeth
  • Differently sized or shaped teeth
There is usually more than one way to achieve such ends. Here are some examples of popular cosmetic services, along with generalized notes about how much they cost:
  • Dental bonding. Also known as direct bonding or cosmetic bonding, this involves reshaping teeth with a composite resin. Direct bonding is fast and affordable, often costing just a few hundred dollars per tooth. The downside is that it usually lasts for just a few years.
  • Teeth whitening. Teeth whitening can cost anywhere from a few hundred dollars to a thousand dollars or more. Its results may last for months or years, depending on how you care for your teeth.
  • Gum recontouring. This service helps patients achieve a more even, proportionate gumline. Its cost depends on the extent of the procedure.
  • Veneers use custom pieces of porcelain to disguise flaws in teeth. They are extremely durable, with the potential to last for 15 – 20 years or longer. Depending on how many veneers you get, the total price could be tens of thousands of dollars.
  • Smile makeover. This service combines multiple treatments to achieve a patient’s ideal smile. It can cost quite a bit, but it is a smart investment for individuals who want to totally transform their smile.

Is Cosmetic Dentistry Worth It?

Cosmetic dentistry is a smart investment for many people. Not only can it enhance the look of your teeth, but it also has the potential to:
  • Boost your confidence in a variety of social situations
  • Make others perceive you as being younger, more successful, and more approachable
  • Motivate you to take excellent care of your teeth and gums
  • Improve your overall quality of life
  • Help you enjoy a more successful career

How to Make Cosmetic Dentistry Affordable

In most cases, cosmetic services are considered to be purely elective. Therefore, insurance does not cover them. (The exception is if a cosmetic service has substantial oral health benefits. This may sometimes be the case with metal-free restorations).
Fortunately, there are other provisions that may be able to help you afford your new look. For example, we may be able to alter your treatment plan and still significantly improve the look of your teeth. Later, when your budget allows, you can come back for further care.

Am I Eligible for Cosmetic Dentistry?

Not everyone makes a good candidate for cosmetic dental work. To qualify, you must be in good oral health, meaning you cannot have cavities, gum disease, or other health-related issue. Once your dental health troubles have been addressed, we can revisit cosmetic treatment options. To see if you are eligible for cosmetic dentistry, you’ll first need to meet with us for a consultation. After a thorough examination, we can tell you whether you are clear to move forward, and it offers the perfect opportunity to ask any questions you might have!

How Do I Know If I Need Cosmetic Dentistry?

Honestly, there’s a particular treatment available for anyone unhappy with their smile. If you want whiter teeth, professional teeth whitening is an option you can explore. If you have chipped or cracked teeth, talk to us about getting veneers or cosmetic bonding. Rest assured – there’s a cosmetic solution for almost every problem! The only way to know for sure whether you’re eligible for the treatment you seek is to attend a consultation with our team. We’ll recommend specific procedures based on the changes you want to make.

Does Cosmetic Dentistry Hurt?

Many patients are hesitant to receive cosmetic treatment because they’re worried it will be painful. We’ll prioritize making your experience as comfortable as possible! Some services like teeth whitening and cosmetic bonding are noninvasive, meaning you shouldn’t even need a local anesthetic. However, treatments like veneers will require our dentists to numb your mouth beforehand. Although you might feel mild soreness and discomfort in the first few days following your procedure, you can easily manage it by taking over-the-counter pain medication or using a cold compress.

How Can Cosmetic Dentistry Change Your Life?

Believe it or not, fixing dental imperfections can improve several different aspects of your life. If you’re proud of your smile, you’ll want to show it off every chance you get! That alone can lower stress by causing your body to produce feel-good chemicals called endorphins. Some research suggests that smiling more can even boost your immune system. Additionally, since you’ll want to preserve your hard-earned results, you’ll be more likely to brush, floss, and visit your dentist regularly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is cosmetic dentistry and how can it improve my smile?
A. Cosmetic dentistry includes treatments that enhance the appearance of your teeth and smile, such as veneers, teeth whitening, gum recontouring, and bonding. These procedures can correct stains, chips, gaps, uneven gums, and more — giving you a more confident, attractive smile.
Q. How do I know if I am a candidate for cosmetic dentistry in Queens, NY?
A. If you’re unhappy with the look of your teeth — whether due to discoloration, chips, gaps, uneven gum lines, or other imperfections — you may be a good candidate. A consultation with our cosmetic dentist will help determine the best treatment plan based on your smile goals.
Q. What cosmetic dental treatments are offered at Breezy Point Smiles?

A.  At our Queen’s dental office, cosmetic services include:

  • Porcelain veneers
  • Metal-free ceramic crowns
  • Cosmetic bonding
  • Professional teeth whitening (in-office and take-home)
  • Gum recontouring
  • Smile makeovers tailored to your goals
  • BOTOX® and Juvéderm® for soft-tissue esthetics
Q. Are porcelain veneers worth it and how long do they last?
A. Porcelain veneers are a highly effective solution for multiple cosmetic concerns (stains, cracks, gaps). With proper care, veneers can last 15–20 years or longer, making them a strong long-term investment in your smile.
Q. Can cosmetic bonding fix small chips or cracks in my teeth?
A. Yes — cosmetic bonding uses tooth-colored composite resin to quickly correct minor imperfections in a single visit. It’s a faster, more affordable alternative for small flaws compared to veneers.
Q. How does professional teeth whitening differ from store-bought kits?
A. Professional whitening treatments at our Queens practice penetrate deeper beneath the surface enamel to remove both external and internal stains, providing more dramatic and longer-lasting results compared to over-the-counter options.
Q. What should I expect during gum recontouring?
A.  Gum recontouring reshapes uneven or excessive gum tissue to improve smile symmetry. The procedure is typically quick, precise, and can be done with minimal discomfort, often using advanced tools like soft-tissue lasers.
Q. How much does cosmetic dentistry cost in Breezy Point, NY?
A. Costs vary based on the procedures chosen. Insurance typically does not cover purely cosmetic services, so prices depend on the complexity of treatment and materials (e.g., number of veneers). We offer personalized estimates during consultations.

Soft Tissue Laser

Nowadays, many procedures involving the gums are performed using a soft-tissue laser. We can use the energy from the laser to excise unneeded or infected tissue while also sterilizing the area to prevent bacteria from causing any more damage. Many patients prefer soft tissue lasers over traditional instruments because they cause very little discomfort; the mouth often doesn’t need to be numbed at all, and there is very little if any bleeding to worry about afterwards.

Hard Tissue Laser

In addition to lasers for sterilizing and removing soft tissues, we also have lasers that are designed specifically for hard tissue – namely your teeth and bones. We often use our hard tissue lasers to prepare teeth for filling placement. We can remove the decayed parts of the tooth without damaging the rest of the enamel, and the lack of pain means there is no need for us to use a local anesthetic to numb the tooth for such procedures.

Co2 Laser

CO2 lasers have been used in dentistry for more than 25 years. They can be used for a wide range of dental procedures, including soft tissue treatments around dental implants and the removal of gum tissue that has become infected as a result of gum disease. The laser energy is generated using carbon dioxide, and it is set at a wavelength that vaporizes the water found in soft tissue, allowing for quick, efficient cutting.
